Embedding Fonts In PDF Files

Most of our retail TrueType fonts packages are not embeddable. When you embed a font in a PDF file you are actually distributing a copy of that font with every single PDF file you generate. Your pdf generator glues a copy of our font to the end of each pdf file it builds. This font is then installed on every computer that views that pdf document. This is the basic principal behind embedding fonts in pdf files.

We do offer embeddable versions of our MICR fonts. To get a version of our fonts that will embed into a pdf file, you need to purchase a special license for that particular font. With this license you receive a new version of the font, which will embed in a PDF file. Pricing for this type of license depends on how many computers will generate the pdf files and on how many people will view the pdfs.

For example, suppose you need to create and display embeddable MICR fonts in a pdf file, and that pdf file will only be used on the computer that created it. In this case you need to purchase one copy of the MICR font set ($139.50) and our Embeddable Add-On MICR font set ($139.50 additional). The total price for embeddable MICR on a single computer would be $279 ($139.50 + $139.50).

If you need to create and display embeddable MICR fonts in a pdf file, and that pdf file will be used five computers, you need both the embeddable add on font set and a multiple user license. In this case you need to purchase one copy of the MICR font set ($139.50), our matching Embeddable Add-On MICR font set ($139.50 additional), and a 5 additional user license ($139.50 additional). The total price for embeddable MICR font set for use on 6 computers would be $418.50 ($139.50 + $139.50 + $139.50).
